The Gagarine-Truillot ZAC in Ivry-sur-Seine is currently undergoing major restructuring. This project proposes a new school group composed of 25 classes from the first section of kindergarten to CM2.
The whole project is directed by the theme of the OBLIQUE, which induces a work of above / inside / below.
The plan of the project is U-shaped in order to capture a maximum of natural light possible in the circulations. These ramped circulations are the transitional spaces that absorb the sun’s light and heat to best control the thermal and light comfort of the classrooms. These circulation corridors can be opened in summer to ventilate and remain closed in winter to warm the building, thanks to the greenhouse effect.
The structure is made of white concrete and the façade elements are made of colored perforated steel.
The education of the children is done throughout the school to the rhythm of an educational color code that also allows for orientation in the building.
