This conceptual project aims to design a structure that works with its envelope to set in motion a body in search of well-being, relaxation and isolation. The imposed program proposes to develop a squash room, a meditation room, baths, a gym and a reception.
The structure, marked by the absence of angle, attracts the user from the street in a slope that leads to the root of the structure gradually rising. This structure is supported by two load-bearing walls on which the elevators rest, the only means of circulation for the building’s users. Through these elevators, the visitor is led, suspended in the void like a mountaineer exploring a cave, to climb into spaces dedicated to the well-being of body and mind.
The idea of this envelope comes from a plastic research and a desire to manipulate plaster combined with fabric. I wanted to know how plaster could sculpt and freeze a sheet. Thus, this porous « shell » is posed on the structure to finally dress it in a very sculptural, almost theatrical and quite surprising way.
